Meet the Brudevolds
Why sell?Lori and Lynn Brudevold purchased The Lariat in January of 2002, and immediately set about making improvements. They opened up the lounge area with vaulted ceilings and recessed lighting. (The resulting acoustics have been hit with live bands!) The couple installed new wainscoting and painted everything that didn’t move. While they were making these improvements, the electrical work was also redone. In the time since, the Brudevolds’ hard work and determination has paid off as The Lariat has grown financially and in popularity. “This business is very near and dear to our hearts,” Lori says. “We have developed some life-long friendships because of it. We love it here in Velva, and we’re not leaving town.” The couple is selling the business as they adjust their priorities to deal with a family member’s health issues. “We’re selling with bittersweet emotion, but it what’s we need to do at this time,” Lori admits. “We’re open to options that will make this sale easy for the buyer, the community and us.” |
Some personal infoLynn has been self-employed as a crop consultant for the past 13 years, and was employed in the same field for a number of years before starting North Central Crop Consulting. His passions include pheasant hunting, fishing, nature walks with his kids and a good game of pinochle. Lori worked as a chiropractic assistant for 13 years before taking an active role in Lynn’s business and raising the couple’s two children. Bobbin lace making, reading, and fung shui top her list of favorite things to do. Daughter Taylor, an active 12-year-old, will start seventh grade this fall. She plays basketball, takes piano and saxaphone lessons, and is excited for junior high and track. Son Mason recently turned eight and is a typical little boy, complete with dirt, miscellaneous bugs in numerous jars, and a never-ending appetite. He starts the second grade this fall and his boundless energy feeds his love of running cross country and peewee wrestling. |
